Abstract
Drilling of horizontal wells is one of the most promising areas of development of the oil and gas industry, due to its potential to increase the efficiency of hydrocarbon production. This method makes it possible to significantly increase the volume of extracted oil due to extended contact with productive formations, while reducing drilling costs. The introduction of modern technologies at the stages of planning, modeling, monitoring and process management in real time contributes to high accuracy and
However, despite progress in this area, there remains a significant amount of uncertainty due to complex geological conditions, heterogeneity of formations and variations in the physical and chemical properties of rocks. These factors affect the accuracy of the drilling trajectory and the stability of the parameters, which requires effective approaches to risk management.
The article examines the key sources of uncertainty and describes methods for minimizing them using the example of the experience of the Online Drilling Service of KMG Engineering LLP. The focus is on practical approaches to adapting drilling processes in real time to ensure their efficiency and safety.
